Since first being introduced to Acting in Secondary school, Andrew has been immersed ever since, from performing in amateur productions to studying Acting through College and University. During this time, he was able to harness his skills and graduate from University with a 1st Class honors degree.
His greatest strength and weakness as an actor, is being a perfectionist. “Art is never finished, only abandoned.” You can always improve, so he tries to constantly learn, whether that is working on acting techniques or learning a new skill which makes him more castable. His biggest aspiration is to be the hardest working actor in the room, and he is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve this goal.
In his down time, he likes to express himself as an artist through different mediums such as free running, where he can gain a stronger awareness of his body through fluid movement. He enjoys spoken word and writing, which allows him to gain a clear understanding of his emotions. He also tries to live mindfully; looking for the positives in all situations, taking time to meditate and treat everyone with kindness.
After leaving University, he went on to perform in a Pantomime of ‘Beauty and the Beast’, touring around the UK as the wonderfully energetic, ‘Silly Simon’. From this he progressed straight into playing ‘Sherlock Holmes’ in a TIE production of ‘Sherlock Holmes’, touring around the beautiful country of Turkey, but sadly the tour was cut short due to Covid-19.
During this tragic time, he created a theatre company called ‘Northern Key Productions’ with a friend which aims to share their love of performance with the less fortunate. This was inspired by their experience of performing in Turkish schools. The children were so amazed and appreciative of their performance, that they wanted to keep sharing their passion with the world. In his acting career, he now wants to focus his attention on perfecting the craft of Acting on screen.
